ByteDance's AI research unit Seed is launching a STEM scientist program that will invite 100 leading scholars to work alongside its team for about six months, applying AI to tackle real scientific problems.
Participants can join as scientist advisors (open to academics and industry experts) or PhD interns (open to current STEM doctoral students). Applicants should already be deep users of AI in their research, with programming skills preferred.
Seed will provide compute power, access to its AI teams, and compensation. The work must be done on-site at ByteDance's lab in Beijing's Haidian district. Applications are open until September 30, 2026.
