Poolside, the coding AI startup that raised a staggering $626 million before ever releasing a public product, is finally showing what it's been working on for three years. The company, founded in 2023, has a valuation of $3 billion and counts Bain Capital Ventures, NVIDIA, and eBay Ventures among its investors. Previously limited to government and public sector clients, Poolside is now releasing its first two models to the public under the Laguna series.

The flagship model, Laguna M.1, is a 225-billion parameter mixture-of-experts model (with 23 billion active parameters), trained from scratch on 6,144 NVIDIA Hopper GPUs.
