Alibaba Cloud's QoderWork has officially launched Design Desk, an AI-native design-to-code tool. You just speak your requirements and the system generates a live design on an infinite canvas, complete with the ability to export it as a React + Vite project for further development.
To control the randomness of AI generation, the platform rebuilds the production flow with three core mechanisms:
- Active questioning (Questions): When input information is insufficient, it prioritizes confirming intent to avoid blind guessing and errors.
- Plan-first (Design Plan): Before generating, it outputs a structured layout and style outline for user approval.
- Parameter nudging (Nudge): After generation, key variables like color, spacing, and border radius are exposed for adjustment without re-describing.
Designs are no longer static black boxes that can't be modified after handoff — they become code assets the whole team can maintain. This approach skips the traditional back-and-forth of slicing mockups, redlining specs, and front-end implementation.
