Doubao, ByteDance’s AI assistant, is now giving its agents a cloud computer. The Work Tasks feature has added a cloud computer environment: users can hand heavy jobs like data research, batch file processing, and scheduled tasks to the cloud, and Doubao will keep running them on a dedicated cloud computer.
That means these tasks no longer have to hog your own machine. If you’re out and about or you close your laptop, the cloud job keeps running — and you can check progress and results from your phone. Early community testing confirms Work Tasks can now switch between local and cloud execution.
In effect, Doubao now offers two work environments. Local data and light tasks use your own computer for faster response; long-running, continuous tasks can be dumped onto the cloud computer.
