Jieyue Xingchen's STEPX Neo Wants to Operate Your Phone for You

What if your phone could just... do things for you? That's the pitch from Jieyue Xingchen, a Chinese AI company that just unveiled its first smartphone: the STEPX Neo.
The phone runs on Step AOS and is powered by a personal AI agent called Amoo. Instead of just chatting with you like a typical bot, Amoo is designed to take direct action — booking rides, ordering food, editing documents, or planning your itinerary. All you have to do is speak your request, and Amoo handles the rest by calling on system functions, hardware, and third-party services.
Jieyue has lined up a solid roster of launch partners: Ctrip (travel), Alipay (payments), Didi (ride-hailing), Meituan (food delivery), WPS (office suite), and Jianying (also known as CapCut, for video editing). The phone also features a secondary interactive screen on its back, hinting at some extra display real estate for quick controls or notifications.
On the certification front, Jieyue says the STEPX Neo has passed the L3 level of China's "AI Terminal Intelligence Classification" standard — L3 is the "assistance level" in the national standard, with the higher L4 level still awaiting finalization.
That said, don't expect to buy one anytime soon. Jieyue hasn't revealed the chipset, display, camera specs, pricing, or even a release date yet. For now, the STEPX Neo is more of a statement of intent than a product you can actually buy.
