Former GitHub CEO Thomas Dohmke's new startup Entire just open-sourced Skills, a set of plugins that let multiple coding agents share the same development context. With Skills installed, Codex, Claude Code, Gemini, OpenCode, and Cursor can all read the same context — and hand off tasks to each other without missing a beat.
Entire had previously open-sourced a CLI tool that automatically records each agent's prompts, reasoning, and file changes during a git commit. It creates a "checkpoint" — a paired snapshot of code changes and the agent conversation that produced them — stored on a separate git branch to avoid cluttering normal commits. Skills builds on those checkpoints with three key features: generating structured summaries so agents can hand off work without manually re-explaining context; letting you trace any line of code back to the specific agent conversation that created it; and searching all historical checkpoints by topic, branch, author, or time range.
Dohmke served as GitHub CEO from 2021 to 2025, overseeing Copilot's evolution from an experiment into a mainstream tool. He founded Entire this February with a $60 million seed round led by Felicis at a $300 million valuation — the largest publicly disclosed seed round in developer tools. The 15-person team includes alumni from GitHub and Atlassian.
