CodeRabbit just proved that AI code review can be a unicorn-sized business.
The company has raised $143 million in a Series C round that values it at $1.5 billion. Atomico and Smash Capital co-led the round, with BMW i Ventures and Datadog also participating. The funding comes less than a year after CodeRabbit's $60 million Series B.
The startup reviews code written by programmers and AI coding agents, looking for bugs, security holes, and maintenance risks. As AI-written code keeps growing, the review work behind it is turning into a serious business.
CodeRabbit says it now runs more than 2 million code reviews per week for over 17,000 customers, and it plans to expand into Japan and other Asian markets.
