If you're cranking out product videos for your online store or batch-producing short dramas, Volcengine — ByteDance's cloud arm — just made it a whole lot cheaper. On June 16, the company's Volcengine Ark Experience Center rolled out Seedance 2.0 Mini, a video generation model designed for high-throughput, high-concurrency production of e-commerce assets, short-form content, and marketing materials. An API is expected soon.
Seedance is the video generation model series developed by ByteDance's Seed team. According to official figures, Seedance 2.0 Mini delivers output quality on par with the Fast version while being twice as fast to generate, and costs about 50% less than the standard Seedance 2.0. At 720P resolution, that works out to roughly 0.5 yuan (about 7 cents) per second of video.
Pricing is structured per token: 0.023 yuan per thousand tokens for image-to-video, and 0.014 yuan per thousand tokens for video-to-video. The model aims to lower the barrier for experimentation and production in high-frequency video generation scenarios.
