Volcano Engine—the cloud arm of ByteDance—has launched Volcano Drama Creator 1.0, an all-in-one AIGC platform for short-form dramas. It uses a proprietary multi-agent architecture and deeply integrates with models like Seedance and Seedream to offer an end-to-end pipeline: script analysis, asset setting, storyboard video generation, and final preview. The company claims it can slash production timelines by over 80%.
The 1.0 update focuses on enabling enterprise-grade industrial workflows. Three new modules are included: a "storyboard prompt editor" that supports multimodal references and smart completion; an "IP portrait library" that covers both compliant virtual avatars and licensed real-person likenesses; and flexible credit allocation and collaboration tools for professional teams with master and sub-accounts.
Volcano Drama Creator has already been used to produce an AI teaser for the film Guge Kingdom (古格王朝), significantly reducing costs for staging traditional historical battle scenes. Going forward, the platform plans to integrate with ByteDance's ecosystem—including Hongguo Short Drama (红果短剧), Ocean Engine (巨量引擎), and Pangle (穿山甲)—to further industrialize short drama production.
