OpenAI lets you bank unused Codex rate-limit resets, adds referral bonuses

OpenAI just gave its AI coding tool Codex a handy new trick: you can now save your unused rate-limit resets and cash them in manually when you run out of credits. Previously, resets only happened automatically on a fixed schedule. The company is also kicking things off by giving every Go, Plus, Pro, and Business user one free reset.

Alongside the banking feature, OpenAI launched a limited-time referral program. For the next two weeks, Plus and Pro subscribers can invite up to three friends to try Codex. Once an invited friend sends their first message, both the referrer and the friend get an extra reset.
