OpenAI is rolling out GPT-6 Astra in waves, and Plus, Pro, and Business users who got access late also received a Codex quota reset card. Some users think that card lets them use far less than a normal weekly quota.
One user compared two windows of usage that each ate 14% of a weekly quota: before the reset, that was around 114 million input tokens and 738 model responses; after the reset, just 63.6 million input tokens and 489 model responses. In their calculation, the reset card is worth only half the usual weekly quota.
The comparison isn't perfectly controlled. Both windows mainly used Astra, but the reasoning tier and agent usage weren't the same. Codex lead Tibo directly denied that there's any difference, saying the available quota is identical before and after a reset.
