OpenAI has launched a new enterprise service called Presence. It’s designed to help businesses connect voice and chat AI agents to their internal data, software, and workflows.
These agents can handle customer service, sales, billing, insurance claims, and IT tickets. Companies get to control what the agents can see, what they can do, and when they need to hand off to a human.
Presence also comes with simulated testing, automatic evaluation, and continuous optimization. OpenAI’s Codex model analyzes failed conversations, identifies issues, and suggests fixes.
OpenAI is already using Presence for its own phone support. The company says its agent independently resolves 75% of English-language calls.
For now, Presence is only available to select enterprises. Deployment requires help from OpenAI engineers or partners — it’s not a self-serve product you can just buy and set up.
