Kimi’s new K3 model was a hit — maybe too big of a hit. The AI company announced today that it is pausing new individual subscriptions after the surge in demand over the past 48 hours nearly maxed out its compute capacity.
Existing members won’t be affected. Kimi says it will prioritize current subscribers while it rushes to expand its compute resources. Once new capacity comes online, it will gradually reopen memberships.
The company is also restructuring its membership plans. Going forward, new users will need to purchase separate access for the main Kimi product and for Kimi Code.
