Yue Zhi Anmian (月之暗面, literally 'Dark Side of the Moon'), the Chinese AI company behind the Kimi chatbot, has taken a key step toward a possible Hong Kong listing. It has been renamed Beijing Yue Zhi Anmian Technology Co., Ltd. and switched its corporate form from a limited liability company to a non-listed joint-stock company.
Yang Zhilin now serves as chairman and general manager, while Zhang Yutong joins the board as a director and Song Sijia steps in as finance chief.
The change is what's commonly called a shareholding reform in China. Under CSRC rules, a domestic company that directly lists overseas through its mainland entity must be a joint-stock company.
Bloomberg previously reported that Yue Zhi Anmian had sent shareholders a resolution to pursue a Hong Kong IPO, potentially within six months, and had begun dismantling its red-chip structure. The company hasn't officially announced a listing timeline.
The registration details come from AiQiCha, a Chinese corporate data platform.
