Moonshot AI is negotiating revenue-sharing agreements with Microsoft, Amazon, and Google that would let the US cloud giants host its Kimi K3 model, according to people familiar with the matter.
Moonshot is seeking up to 30% of revenue generated from Kimi K3-related services on Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud — terms largely in line with what it offers large customers using open-weight models. It has already signed similar agreements with several smaller cloud platforms, the people said.
If the talks succeed, the arrangement would mark the first major model revenue-sharing partnership between a Chinese AI company and a major US cloud provider. Meanwhile, Alibaba is also looking to establish revenue-sharing mechanisms with major users of its new open-source AI model.
