ByteDance's Doubao app has quietly rolled out a built-in navigation feature called "Doubao Navigation." Users can speak or type a destination, grant location permissions, and the app generates an integrated map card showing driving, transit, cycling, and walking options in real time.
The feature uses a context-aware approach: walking and cycling routes come with full in-app navigation and real-time voice guidance, displaying remaining distance, estimated time, and arrival time. For driving and public transit, the app hands off to third-party map apps.
