Business registration records show that Shanghai Xiaohe Clinic Co., Ltd. was incorporated this February, with Wu Haifeng, ByteDance’s core health business lead, serving as its legal representative and general manager. The move signals that ByteDance is once again doubling down on brick-and-mortar healthcare after multiple rounds of business restructuring.
ByteDance’s strategy for its Xiaohe Health division is now coming into focus. On the digital side, the company is deepening AI medical R&D through Xiaohe Medical and has launched an AI-powered consultation and triage service called Xiaohe AI Doctor. On the ground, the new outpatient clinic brings that AI technology into real-world patient visits, creating a complete online-to-offline care loop.
Meanwhile, ByteDance’s other healthcare bet — United Family Healthcare, which focuses on premium, high-end services including luxury maternity care — continues to grow steadily. Together, the mass-market Xiaohe Health and the premium United Family Healthcare give ByteDance a healthcare footprint that spans virtually every income bracket.
