Ex-MiHoYo growth lead's AI ad agent raises cash from CMC Capital

LeapMind Growth has closed an angel+ funding round led by CMC Capital, with the amount undisclosed. The company was founded in April 2025 by Ma Ruping, who previously led user growth at TikTok, Kuaishou, and MiHoYo — managing over $5 billion in growth budgets across his career. The core team hails from ByteDance, MiHoYo, Kuaishou, and Meituan.

The company's flagship product, GrowthGPT, is an AI growth agent. Users set a goal and a budget cap, and the agent takes over from there: crafting ad strategies, iterating on creative, executing across platforms, and optimizing performance. The system includes built-in budget safeguards and "growth memory" — cross-session business context that makes the agent smarter the longer it's used. The company claims that in some overseas cold-start campaigns where GrowthGPT handled everything end-to-end, customer acquisition costs came in 70% lower than the target.

It's a more targeted approach than general-purpose agents like Manus, which Meta tried to acquire for $2 billion earlier this year only to have the deal blocked by Chinese regulators.

Ma says after eight years working client-side, he realized over 80% of growth work is rule-based and can be handed off to an agent. Past tools weren't good enough, so teams just threw people at the problem. GrowthGPT aims to systematize that 80%, letting humans focus on the remaining 20% of core decisions.

The round was led by CMC Capital, joined by the CMC AI Creative Fund — a joint fund established with Hong Kong Investment Management Limited.
