xAI has opened beta access to Grok Build, its first command-line agent tool for writing code, building apps, and automating workflows. For now, the tool is only available to SuperGrok Heavy subscribers — so if you're already paying for that tier, you can start telling your terminal what to do in natural language.
Here's the flow: you type a request in plain English directly into the terminal. Grok Build responds with a detailed implementation plan, asks for human confirmation or adjustments, and only then takes over the actual code modifications. When faced with a large engineering project, Grok Build kicks off a concurrent sub-agent mechanism — it breaks the main task apart and spins up multiple parallel sub-agents to work through them.
