xAI has officially opened up its terminal-based coding agent, Grok Build (Beta), to all SuperGrok and X Premium+ subscribers. Developers can now use natural language to debug, modify, and refactor code from the command line. Previously, access was limited to the $300/month SuperGrok Heavy tier.

As a tool built for professional software engineering, Grok Build introduces a Plan Mode workflow that analyzes the project and generates a detailed implementation plan before making any changes. It natively supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and multi-agent collaboration, and can run in headless mode without a GUI. Developers can also call Imagine — xAI's image and video generation feature — directly from the CLI to build automation tasks or orchestrate workflows.
