Weibo's open platform just released an official command-line tool called Weibo CLI, designed to let AI agents — with user authorization — post, interact, and analyze trends on the Chinese social network. It uses OAuth to hand over social media operations to automated workflows.
Before you can run weibo-cli, you'll need to pass Weibo's real-name verification and subscribe to a plan. Fire up weibo-cli doctor to check if everything's ready, then use commands list to see available endpoints and commands show to confirm your plan's limits.
Pricing starts with a FREE tier that gives you 5 requests per hour. Paid plans range from ¥29 to ¥899 (about $4 to $125) and use a credits system. Billed endpoints deduct from your credit balance, while free endpoints don't — but they're still throttled by their own hourly caps.
Because AI actions can go wrong, the official docs recommend keeping human approval for write operations like posting or sending DMs. And if your credentials leak, you can revoke them manually from the console.
