Google is already testing Gemini 3.8 Flash internally. Internal screenshots obtained by Business Insider show the new model, labeled Gemini 3.8 Flash Preview, is available to some employees and has popped up on Jetski, Google's internal coding platform.
One employee who's tried it says 3.8 Flash is "noticeably better" than 3.7 Flash, but admitted it's still too early to give a full verdict.
Gemini 3.7 Flash officially launched on August 13 — just 14 days before word of the 3.8 internal test surfaced. And 3.7 itself arrived only three weeks after 3.6. Google has previously said it wants to push model updates to roughly once a month.
