Tencent announced that QQ Browser is fully integrating its AI assistant Yuanbao. The Mac version is already updated, with other versions rolling out soon. Unlike previous versions where you had to hunt for a sidebar or floating window, Yuanbao is now deeply embedded into the browser's sidebar, search bar, and address bar.
The update brings several major changes:
Always-on access and instant search: While browsing, reading files, or viewing English content, you can summon Yuanbao anytime for questions, summaries, conversations, or in-text translations. When you type a query in the address or search bar, the first result is now a structured answer from Yuanbao, with follow-up questions supported.
Cross-page and cross-file Q&A: You can import multiple webpages or files by clicking "+Webpage/File" and let Yuanbao compare, analyze, and extract information across all of them.
New writing and image generation features: Yuanbao can now write from scratch, paraphrase, continue, or polish text, and generate images from descriptions. For students, there's a learning module that can take photos of problems and organize them into a digital error notebook.
Underlying model upgrade: The browser's underlying large model has been upgraded to Hunyuan 3 preview (Hy3 preview). Official answer accuracy improved from 91% to 94%, and the logic and readability of long-form answers are better. Frequent features like webpage summaries, mind maps, and reading mode also see improved answer completeness.
