AI coding startup Cognition has released its one-year report card since acquiring Windsurf. The company's annual recurring revenue has jumped from $73 million to over $500 million. Its headcount grew from 44 to 350 employees.
Over the past year, Cognition launched several in-house coding models and products like Devin Desktop and Devin Review. Devin can now orchestrate multiple Devin instances, and it automatically tests, checks, and fixes code.
The acquisition itself was negotiated in just 72 hours. Windsurf brought along its IDE, millions of users, and a mature sales team.
