Jack Dorsey's Block has released Buzz, an open-source collaboration platform designed for both humans and AI agents. It aims to combine Slack-style team chat with GitHub-style code collaboration.
Buzz offers channels, threads, direct messages, voice, media sharing, automation workflows, and Git hosting. AI agents join as independent members with their own identities and permissions. They can send messages, submit and review code, and trigger workflows. The platform supports Claude Code, Codex, and goose.
Buzz is built on the Nostr protocol. Messages, workflows, and Git operations are all signed and written to a unified event log. Teams can self-host or use Block's hosted version. The project is open-sourced under Apache 2.0.
Buzz already has macOS, Windows, and Linux clients, but the product is still early. Mobile apps and some workflow approval features are not yet complete.
