NousResearch has dropped a major update to its multi-platform agent framework, Hermes Agent v0.14.0. The release packs over 800 commits, and the headline act is elevating xAI to a first-class citizen — along with an ambitious bid to take over your various AI subscriptions.
Grok gets top-tier treatment. The new version adds support for SuperGrok subscriptions, letting you call models without fussing over API keys. The accompanying grok-4.3 model gets a context window bump to 1 million tokens. That previously external x_search tweet search tool? Now it's baked in natively, complete with X OAuth support.
There's also an official local proxy. The new hermes proxy command converts web-based credentials from Claude Pro, ChatGPT Pro, and SuperGrok into standard OpenAI-format local endpoints. In theory, this could replace a bunch of third-party reverse proxy tools.
The agent execution pipeline gets some hardcore validation. A new "handoff" instruction enables seamless model switching with context. For code editing, the system runs LSP semantic diagnostics after writing files and adds an extra validation layer — a direct jab at the hallucination problem where LLMs claim they made edits but actually didn't.
Finally, by shifting heavy dependencies like audio/video and platform interactions to lazy loading, cold start times have been slashed by nearly 19 seconds.
