Stripe has finalized its acquisition of OpenRouter for more than $7 billion, though the final price could still change.
OpenRouter is an AI model aggregation platform that lets developers use a single API to call, compare, and switch among hundreds of models. When OpenRouter raised money in May, it was valued at around $1.3 billion — meaning the acquisition price is at least 5.4 times that, less than three months later.
In July, The Wall Street Journal reported that Stripe had discussed a price around $10 billion; the number now agreed on is considerably lower. OpenRouter has also been growing quickly recently.
