Google has released two new multimedia generation models. For image generation, there's Nano Banana 2 Lite (API name gemini-3.1-flash-lite-image), which boasts ultra-low latency: generating a single 1K image takes about 4 seconds, and the cost is just $0.034 per thousand images. It's designed as a faster, cheaper alternative to the previous gemini-2.5-flash-image model. Additionally, the video model Omni Flash, which was showcased at Google I/O 2026, is now open for public beta testing.
