Nick Fox, Google’s Senior VP of Search and Information, announced that Google Finance is adding an AI-powered 'Key moments' feature. When you view a stock chart spanning one month or more, the AI automatically labels significant price swings and generates a text summary explaining why the stock moved, drawing on geopolitical events, earnings reports, market sentiment, and more.
Another new feature targets earnings calls: the AI extracts key moments from the audio so you can jump straight to them without replaying the entire call. Both features are available at finance.google.com/beta. Fox says a small team built them quickly.
Google Finance has been on an AI overhaul since August 2025, rolling out Deep Search, predictive market data, real-time earnings tracking, and more. It expanded to over 100 countries in April 2026. The core value of 'Key moments' is democratizing institutional-grade event attribution — now any retail investor can open a chart and see AI’s take on why the stock surged or tanked.
