DHH, the creator of the popular web framework Rails, has released Omarchy 4.0 "Quattro." Omarchy is a Linux distribution built for developers. It comes with the desktop, terminal, browser, dev tools, and shortcuts preconfigured, so you can hit the ground running without wrestling with Linux setup from scratch.
Version 4.0 reworks the whole desktop, making it easier to switch themes, tweak windows, and install plugins. It also bakes AI coding agents into the system, with built-in support for Claude, Codex, Grok, and similar tools. The agent can modify your configs, write code, and even debug an app after it crashes.
You can install it as your main OS, and Windows users can dual-boot. If you like to tinker, you can swap themes, rebind shortcuts, and install community plugins.
Omarchy's pitch is simple: it handles the configuration gauntlet that scares away Linux newcomers, while leaving the freedom of Linux intact.
