Cursor accidentally opens Origin, a GitHub rival built for AI agents

Cursor's code hosting platform Origin accidentally opened to some users this week. Origin is compatible with Git and positions itself as a GitHub alternative, but it's built specifically for AI agents that read, write, and commit code at high frequency.

Screenshots from early users show Origin supports one-click repository import from GitHub, automatic merge conflict resolution, and global synchronization under 400ms. The company claims a single repository can handle roughly 22 commits per second and about 296,000 clones per hour.

But the public access appears to have been accidental. Cursor later notified those users that Origin wasn't meant to be live just yet.
