Navigating long conversations in Codex just got a lot easier. This week's update introduces a navigation rail: hover over the edge of a slot and you'll see a preview you can jump to directly. The thread scrolling also gets smoother, automatically keeping your place when you switch between conversation turns.

The UI now properly snaps into place when you zoom, preventing tooltips, menus, dialogs, selection bubbles, drag previews, and autocomplete from misbehaving. The settings search now covers more ground, including appearance controls, host filters, and custom Provider settings — plus a new pet-specific panel. Archive management is simpler, and unread badges are now synced between the Dock and sidebar.
Under the hood, the update reduces background task load when switching threads and supports progressive loading of deeper local history. On the cross-platform front, copying text from Codex to Slack now preserves Markdown formatting, and the hang when pasting large text blocks is fixed. Draft text won't get lost during thread handoff, and pasted image previews now support arrow key navigation.
