Base44 unveils Base 1

Web development platform Wix’s Vibe Coding platform Base44 has announced its first self-developed large model, Base 1, which is now live in production. Unlike platforms that merely call generic model APIs, Base44 aims to achieve full-stack vertical integration — from database and backend infrastructure to the intelligence layer — through its own model.

Base 1’s core advantage lies in its unique training data: tens of millions of real user development sessions accumulated on the platform. This includes users’ original requests, code generated by agents, runtime errors, user modifications, and the closed-loop signal of whether the application ultimately ran successfully.

Base44 founder Maor Shlomo notes that general-purpose large models must cover a wide range of programming languages and tasks, while Base 1 is focused on a specific application development environment. The team trained the model not just to write code, but also to develop “product decision-making abilities” — allowing it to participate in product discussions, predict the user’s next needs, and even steer clear of unreasonable development paths.

Base 1 has already been added to the platform’s model selector alongside other mainstream models, with the system automatically routing tasks based on type. Base44 plans to publish technical details and benchmark results in the coming weeks.
