Ant Group has quietly rolled out its first self-developed AI glasses, the Willit, now available for purchase on Taobao alongside a companion app, Willit AI. The selling entity is Beijing Ant Zuoluo Technology Co., Ltd., whose legal representative is Zhao Wenbiao, Ant Group's senior vice president and CEO of Ant Digital Technologies. With this initial foray into consumer AI hardware, Ant is sidestepping the usual hardware markup and pricing the Willit at an entry-level 899 yuan (roughly $124). The sunglasses-style version has already sold over 1,000 units on Taobao.
On the feature front, the Willit comes in two styles: a sunglasses variant and a color-changing model. It supports photo and video capture, calls and music playback, real-time translation, voice-to-text recording, AI conversations, and visual recognition — including a calorie identification feature for everyday use. The premium tier adds AI Q&A, a personal assistant, and third-party service support. Store customer service confirmed that payment functionality hasn't been added yet. While it lacks direct payment capabilities, the Willit's combination of voice, vision, and large language model integration positions Ant Group to compete for the next major interaction gateway in the AI era.
Behind the scenes, the Willit has a clear lineage within Ant Group's tech and ecosystem. According to public records, Beijing Ant Zuoluo Technology is wholly owned by Beijing Lingzhou Technology, which itself is the core vehicle for ZOLOZ, Ant Group's trusted identity verification platform. The Willit AI app is operated by Sasi Digital Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Ant Digital Future (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd. Both entities list Zhao Wenbiao as their legal representative. Zhao, who also serves as the legal representative and manager of the Willit operating entity, underscores Ant Group's strategic commitment to consumer AI hardware as a critical entry point.
