xAI has launched a fast code model called grok-build-0.1, trained specifically for agentic coding tasks. The model handles both text and image inputs, natively supports tool calling, structured outputs, and reasoning capabilities. It's currently in early access.
grok-build-0.1 features a context window of 256k tokens. API pricing starts at $1 per million input tokens and $2 per million output tokens. With prompt caching enabled, cached input tokens drop to $0.20 per million tokens.
xAI has also opened up third-party authorization for Grok personal subscriptions. Users with SuperGrok or X Premium can use OAuth to reuse their official compute quota directly in the open-source agents Hermes Agent and OpenClaw, allowing them to call grok-build-0.1 seamlessly.
