Grok 4.6 only just came out, and Elon Musk is already talking up Grok 4.7. He's not subtle about it: Grok 4.7 will beat "all existing models." Especially on real engineering tasks, he says, SpaceX's unique engineering training data gives it a massive edge — so much so that he'd be shocked if any model still ends up stronger than Grok 4.7.
Musk made similarly loud performance promises before Grok 4.5, and this time the actual releases have backed it up. Grok 4.6 has landed in the top tier across several recent benchmark suites, even topping GPT-5.6 Sol on some coding and engineering tests. Whether Grok 4.7 can genuinely clear "all existing models" is something we'll only know once it officially ships.
