OpenClaw released version 2026.7.1 today, finally adding native chat and session management to its Mac app. The previous version was mostly limited to menu bar controls, voice input, permission management, and Gateway configuration — now it has a proper desktop chat experience.
Users can now search through past conversations, switch models and reasoning intensity, use slash commands, export chat history, and see how much context they’ve used.
New installs of OpenClaw will default to GPT-5.6, but existing users’ model settings won’t be overwritten. The update also adds support for Claude Sonnet 5, Mythos 5, and Meta Muse Spark 1.1.
On mobile, iOS and Android apps now cache conversations offline, so you can still see recent chats without a connection. The Apple Watch app lets you ask questions by voice and hear the response read aloud.
