Open-source AI agent company Nous Research is closing in on a new round of funding — at least $75 million, with a valuation of $1.5 billion.
The round is led by Robot Ventures, with USV and others participating. The deal isn't done yet, and Nous Research declined to comment.
The company's big draw is Hermes Agent, an AI that runs continuously on a computer or cloud server. It can search the web, write code, understand images, and even automatically create and improve its own skills based on what it experiences.
Hermes has already racked up about 214,000 stars on GitHub. The fresh cash will go toward expanding the product and business model, including a cloud-hosted service aimed at regular consumers.
