We’ve seen a lot of AI-focused venture funds pop up, but MoE Capital is taking a different approach. The early-stage fund, founded by former members of AGI House, just closed its first raise at $25 million. What sets it apart? Its limited partners and advisory network are packed with active researchers from OpenAI, Anthropic, and xAI.
MoE Capital is trying to build an information advantage through a tight-knit researcher community. Researchers at top labs can flag colleagues who are leaving to start companies, giving the fund a head start on high-quality deal flow. To bridge hardware and software, the team even took a group of researchers to Shenzhen this month to check out robotics supply chain vendors.
So far, MoE Capital has invested in two companies: Phylo, which is building AI agents for biomedical discovery, and Recursive Superintelligence, a neolab working on recursive superintelligence (yes, that’s its actual name).
