Google has scrapped its planned AI Studio mobile app for iOS and Android before it ever shipped. The whole idea was to bring AI Studio's app-generation and code-modification tools to your phone, so you could build software with a prompt from anywhere. About 800,000 people had signed up to try it. They won't get the chance now.
Instead, the app-generation feature will be embedded directly in Gemini. In a normal conversation, you'll be able to describe what you want, and Gemini will generate the app for you. It's slated to work across mobile and desktop, but there's no launch date yet.
The browser-based Google AI Studio remains in active development, still catering to those who want to go from a prompt to a full product.
