Google Antigravity team member Varun Mohan (a former Windsurf founder) announced today that the company is tripling weekly Gemini model call limits for all paid subscription plans — again. Combined with a similar 3x increase the day before, the baseline quota has now ballooned to 9x the original version. The company also reset all paid users' weekly usage counters to zero, ostensibly to give developers more breathing room.

But the developer community isn't buying the good news. Multiple commenters pointed out that Antigravity had previously inflicted a brutal quota rug-pull, slashing limits so severely that even casual users who occasionally chatted with the sidebar would hit the cap instantly, rendering the product unusable. One developer called the announcement "gaslighting" — a marketing campaign to frame fixing an egregiously broken limit as a generous freebie.
