Ryan Beiermeister, OpenAI's former vice president of product policy, has landed at Peter Thiel's venture capital firm Founders Fund as an investment partner. She will focus on AI infrastructure, agent systems, defense, energy, and biotech.
Beiermeister was fired by OpenAI earlier this year. The company said she discriminated against a male colleague. She denies the allegations and believes the termination was tied to her opposition to a planned "adult mode" for ChatGPT. OpenAI denies any connection.
Before her ouster, she attended a Founders Fund-hosted live-action "Mafia" game alongside Sam Altman and Palmer Luckey. Some joked it was a job interview; Founders Fund says the two events are unrelated.
