Kimi K3 just dropped, and Elon Musk is already talking about his next move. He says SpaceXAI's new 2 trillion parameter model will finish initial training next week, and it's designed to beat Kimi on every front — while staying on par with Grok 4.5 in speed and token efficiency.
According to Musk, the new model should surpass Kimi while maintaining the generation speed and token efficiency close to Grok 4.5.
Artificial Analysis benchmarks show Kimi K3 and Grok 4.5 scoring 57 and 54 on the intelligence index, with per-task costs of about $0.94 and $0.31 respectively. Grok 4.5 lags slightly in smarts but costs only a third of Kimi K3. Musk wants the 2T model to close that capability gap without sacrificing efficiency.
