Anthropic just threw its paid subscribers a five-day lifeline. The company is extending the free trial of its flagship reasoning model, Claude Fable 5, through July 12. That's five extra days of unlimited-ish access — but keep in mind, the usage cap remains at 50% of your weekly allowance.

The model briefly disappeared from the platform due to export controls, then came back globally on July 1. Originally, the plan was to flip the switch to pay-per-use on July 7. Now that's pushed to July 12. After that, forget about using your subscription tokens — you'll have to buy inference credits through the API at $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output tokens.
