OpenAI president Greg Brockman is taking on a new challenge. On the latest episode of the Core Memory podcast, he revealed that he has taken over the integration of the company's overall products and their supporting research — a job he's had for about "a few weeks." CEO Sam Altman says the move has made the team "noticeably happier."
Brockman mapped out three product priorities. First, an agent platform that is "executing very smoothly," with new releases expected within weeks. Second, "computer work" — he deliberately avoids the phrase "knowledge work," because "nobody thinks of themselves as a knowledge worker." The goal there is to expand Codex from engineers to everyone. Third, "personal..." — that's where the podcast cuts out.
Also on Brockman's mind: Sora. The video generator was cut from OpenAI's plans due to a "tech tree divergence." The technology had branched in a direction that no longer aligned with the company's main technical path.
