OpenAI Codex lead Thibault Sottiaux announced that Plus subscribers are getting their 5-hour usage limit back, and it now applies to both ChatGPT Work and Codex. The $100 and $200 Pro tiers won't get the cap reinstated, at least for the next few months.
That 5-hour limit had been temporarily lifted by OpenAI. Sottiaux says the reinstatement comes down to two reasons: spreading out compute demand so large numbers of users aren't hitting the systems at once, and stopping Plus users from torching an entire week's quota in one go.
