OpenCode co-founder Dax Raad shared the client-side cache hit rates for DeepSeek traffic over the past 48 hours. The top performer? Not his own OpenCode — it's Zhipu's ZCode, with a hit rate of 98.60%. OpenCode V2 comes in at 97.86%, while Claude Code / CLI trails at just 89.31%.
Even Raad was caught off guard. "I don't know what ZCode is, but it's doing a great job," he said. Since DeepSeek charges roughly 50x more for cache-missed inputs than cache hits, those numbers translate directly into cost. By that math, ZCode's input costs come out to about 27% of Claude Code's.
ZCode is Zhipu's Agentic Development Environment (ADE) built for GLM-5.2, though it also supports other models.
