DeepSeek V4's general availability (GA) release may be slipping to mid-August, and it could land right in the middle of a crowded next-gen AI launch window. According to a fresh leak from a netizen, DeepSeek is about to kick off a closed beta for its in-house Harness tool, pulling a small group of users from recent survey respondents. The company is reportedly planning to open up V4 GA roughly one to two weeks after that closed beta wraps, putting the release sometime between August 10 and 20.
If the timeline holds, V4 won't have the field to itself. By then, GPT-6, Claude Fable 5.1, and GLM-5.5 may already be in the market — which would make for a very interesting late summer.
