DeepSeek V4's general availability (GA) release may be delayed until mid-August, according to user leaks. A closed beta for DeepSeek's proprietary Harness tool is reportedly starting soon, and participants are being selected from a survey pool. The GA launch would follow 1 to 2 weeks after that closed testing ends, putting the release window between August 10 and 20. If the timeline holds, DeepSeek V4 will hit the market just as a wave of next-generation models — including GPT-6, Claude Fable 5.1, and GLM-5.5 — could already be available.
