For the first time, OpenAI is making its closed-source models available on a cloud platform other than Microsoft Azure. Today, the company and AWS announced a triple limited preview launch on Amazon Bedrock: GPT-5.5 and other OpenAI models are coming to Bedrock, Codex can now run with Bedrock as its backend, and AWS is introducing Amazon Bedrock Managed Agents powered by OpenAI. Codex, the AI coding assistant, currently has over 400 weekly active users.
